Lenarkiewicz, Rev. Joseph Alex
Born Feb. 17, 1840 in Poland. In 1863 entered the Carmelite Order in Russia; was sent to Rome where he was ordained Dec. 23, 1865. Came to U. S. in 1867. From 1867 to 1877 was engaged in different parishes: Brooklyn, N. Y. 1867; Cumberland, Md. 1868; Leavenworth, Kan. 1868; New York City, N. Y. 1868; Rome, 1869; New York, 1873; Philadelphia, Pa., 1873. ln Mar. 1877 was appointed pastor at St. Casimir's Church, Shenandoah, Pa., where he built a church and school.
