Lipski, Rev. Walter
Born Nov. 3, 1868 in Warsaw, Poland; son of Bronislaus and Clementine Wolski Lipski. Received secondary education in Kielce, Poland, and graduated from the Academy of Agriculture in Czernichow near Krakow, Poland. Attended the Theological Semmary in Kielce and later joined the Jesuit Order; ordained on June 22, 1890. On Mar. 22, 1891 came to U.S.; engaged as an assistant in Brooklyn, Buffalo, Winona and Chicago. In 1906 came to Pittsburgh, Pa., and was admitted to the diocese of Pittsburgh, Pa. Pastor in Monessen, Everson, Homestead and Lucerne Mills, where remained until Mar. 1, 1940, when he resigned from the pastorship. On June 24, 1940 celebrated a golden jubilee of his priesthood, sponsored by the Polish Priests Ass'n of Pittsburgh Diocese. Address : P.O. Box 166, Lucerne Mines, Pa.
