Losieniecki, Rev. Wenceslaus A., J.U.L.
Born in Blossburg, Pa., Sept, 28, 1898; son of Jacob and Louise (Zarzynski) Losieniecki. Pursued his elementary and H.S. studies at the local schools in Blossburg, Pa. Entered St. Mary's College, Orchard Lake, Mich. in 1917. Completed three yrs. of theological studies at SS. Cyril and Methodius Seminary, Orchard Lake, Mich. Continued theological studies at the Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C. Received degrees "Bachelor of Theology" and "Bachelor of Canon Law" at the Catholic University in May 1923. Ordained to the R. C. priesthood at St. Peter's Cathedral, Scranton, Pa. on May 25, 1923. Appointed assistant at St. Mary's Church, Mount Pocono, Pa. Transferred to the Sacred Heart Church, Scranton, Pa. in Dec. 1923. Returned to the Catholic University at Washington, D.C. for postgraduate studies in Sept. 1926. Studied Canon Law and Roman Law under renowned professors -- Bernardini, Lardone and Riccobono. Received degree of Licentiate in both Laws (Jure Utroque -- J.U.L.) in 1928. Completed studies leading to the degree of Doctor of both Laws in 1929. Assistant at Holy Family Church, Sugar Notch, Pa. Appointed pastor of St. Mary's Church, Mocanaqua, Pa. in Dec. 1929. Succeeded the late Father Anthony Lipinski as pastor of St. Adalbert's Church, Glen Lyon, Pa. in Oct. 1935. Appointed pastor of Ss. Peter and Paul's Church, Scranton, Pa. in Oct. 1938. Charter member of Riccobono Seminar of Roman Law in America. Prosynodal Judge and Junior Clergy Examiner of Scranton Diocese. Director of St. Stanislaus Orphanage, Nanticoke, Pa. Residence: 1309 W.
