Textile engineer, Polish community leader

Born Feb. 24, 1919, Jaslo, Poland; came to U.S., 1948; son of Wojciech and Maria (Lubas); married Maria (Pieniazek).

Education: Infantry Cadet Officer's School, Komorowo - Ostrow Mazowiecka (Poland), 1937-39; Bachelor of Science (B.S.) (in textile engineering), Philadelphia Textile College (PA), 1958.

Career: supervisor, Frankford Woolen Mills, 1956-66, researcher, Rohm and Haas Company, 1968-84, Philadelphia; Retired.

Member of: vice president, Polish American Congress (P.A.C.) Eastern Pennsylvania division, 1963-70; senior vice commander, Polish Army Veterans Association - Stowarzyszenie Weteranow Armii Polskiej (S.W.A .P.), 1979-94 (commander, Post No. 12, 24 times); United Veterans Council of Philadelphia (commander, 1984).

Honors: Silver Cross of Merit with Swords; Gold Cross of Merit; Polish Home Army Cross; Partisan's Cross; September '39 Campaign Cross; Army Medal.

Served with: Polish Army, 1937-39; September '39 Campaign; Polish Home Army - Armia Krajowa (A.K)., 1940-45; Polish Armed Forces in the West, 2nd Corps, 1945-47, captain.

Affiliation: Republican. Roman Catholic.
