Macielag, Joseph J.

Joseph J. Macielag is a five-term President of the Western New York Division of the Polish American Congress, Inc. (PAC) and the former Treasurer and Membership Chairman of the PAC. Macielag serves as a member of the National Polish American-Jewish American Council, the Polish American-Jewish American Council of WNY; Professional & Businessmen's Assn.; Polish Union of America; Polish Arts Club; Chopin Singing Society; Knights of Columbus; Buffalo Audubon Society; Polish Media Task Force; Greater Niagara Musicians' Assn.; and the Academe Discussion Group. Chairman and founding member of the Coalition to Halt Hate Talk Radio and Past President of the Niagara Frontier Folk Art Council, Inc. A contributing columnist to the Am - Poi Eagle and former Feature Columnist for the Tonawanda News. Retired from Praxair, Inc. (formerly Union Carbide Corp - Linde Division) as Program Manager of Administration, Mr. Macielag is a popular lecturer and guest speaker on Polish folk music and history. He is bandleader of the Pic A Polka Orchestra with recordings, concerts, and production of TV shows popular in the WNY area.
