Roman Catholic clergyman. Born in Jersey City, N. J., where he attended St. Anthony's parochial school, studied at St. Peter's H.S. and St. Peter's College, Jersey City, N. J. Later entered Seton Hall College, where he completed his philosophical course and studied theology at the Immaculate Conception Seminary, South Orange, N. J. Ordained in 1924. First assignment as assistant pastor at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Bayonne, N. J. After nine months transferred as assistant pastor to St. Joseph's Church, Passaic, N. J. and later assigned as assistant pastor to St. Adalbert's Church, Elizabeth, N. J., in which parish he served for thirteen years.
