Malczewski, Constantine Paul
General of Artillery in the Mexican Army. Brother of the famous Polish poet Anthony Malczewski; an artillery officer of the Napoleonic army fought under the Lallemands at Waterloo, and with general Lallemand appeared in America and joined the expedition to Alabama; helped to establish the short-lived French "Vine and Olive Colony" and later Champ-d'Asile in Texas in 1817. One of the four officers who planned and directed the building or the forts which protected Champ-d'Asile. Eight months later went to Louisiana, and later to Mexico; became a general of the Mexican Army from 1834-1837.
