Mallek, Anthony Stephen
Physician. Born in Posen, Poland. Received elementary education at Mount Pleasant, Pa., secondary education in Polish Seminary, Orchard Lake. Mich, and at Alliance College, Cambridge Springs, Pa. Graduated from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pa., in 1920. Member of numerous Polish organizations, and chief examiner of the Union of St. Joseph, a fraternal organization in Pittsburgh, Pa. Very active in civic, patriotic and social affairs in Pittsburgh. In 1929 visited Poland. For his interest in Polish youth movements, decorated with Golden Cross of Merit by the Polish Government in 1938. Collector of original pictures of Polish painters and old Polish coins. In 1939 elected president of the Polish Relief Fund for the District XII of Western Pennsylvania.
