Born Oct. 22, 1873 in Poznan, Poland. Came to U.S. as a boy and settled with parents in Alpena, Mich. Graduated from St. Lawrence College, Milwaukee, Wis.; philosophical studies completed at SS. Cyril and Methodius Theological Seminary, Detroit, Mich; theology studies at the Kenrick Seminary, St. Louis, Mo. Ordained On May 18, 1905, Newark, N. J. In 1908 organized St. Casimir's parish, Newark, N. J. In 1912 appointed pastor of St. Joseph's parish, Passaic, N. J. Elevated to the rank of Domestic Prelate by Pope Pius Xl, Oct. 17, 1928.
