Marek, Maximilian
Athlete boxer. Born in Chicago, III., Nov. 17, 1913. During his amateur boxing he had 365 bouts, winning 13 championships; was a member of the U.S. Olympic Team in 1932; National Amateur Athletic Union champion in Golden Gloves, International Title of Ireland vs. United States; CYO champion in 1931 and 1932 down to miIior titles all over the U.S. He studied for two years at Notre Dame University, So. Bend, Ind.; gave up his college studies to become a professional boxer.
