Jacek Mazurek, 45, of Kearny, NJ, died Feb. 15, 2010, in a plane crash.Jacek was the owner of the Cessna aircraft piloted by Wojciech G. Nykaza. He moved from Warsaw to the United States 20 years ago and, among other things, organized a company that exported automobiles to Europe. He also had a company Jack Air LLC, registered in Delaware, that owned several aircraft. He owned property in Florida and in the Dominican Republic.
Relatives and friends may call at the Wilfred Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr., Kearny, on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m.; then a Mass will take place at 4:30 p.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, Harrison, with visitation to resume at the funeral home from 7 until 9 p.m. Interment will take place in Poland.
Born in Poland, Jacek moved to Kearny 10 years ago and was a self-employed auto mechanic. He is survived by his parents, Franciszek and Daniela; his sister, Hanna Sadowska, and his nephew and niece, Kuba and Kasia. Jacek loved boxing and attened the fights of Polish champions Andrzej Golota and Tomasz Adamek
Also killed in the crash: Wojciech G. Nykaza (46), an experienced pilot and enginner at Krakow Technical University, a resident of Lodi, NJ, who was at the controls; Andrzej Zajaczkowski (38), his 14 year-old son Patrick, and 6 year-old nephew Phillip Zajaczkowski.
