Michalowski, Teofil B.
Captain in Civil War. Exile from Poznan, Poland. Enlisted April 16, 1860 as private in Second Infantry of U.S. Army. Later commissioned as Second Lieutenant of 1st Artillery. Distinguished himself in the battle at Antietam. First Lieutenant Oct. 4, 1862. On June 24, 1863, in the battle at Goose Creek. Va., commanded the whole Artillery Division of General Buford. Later commanded the First Artillery under General Gregg. Captain, June, 1864, for his bravery in the battle at St. Mary's, Va. Honorably discharged Aug. 28, 1867.
