Michnowski, Rev. Alexander Raymond
Born January 22, 1834 in Poland. Secondary education received in Szczebrzyszyn; ordained 1862 in Lublin. Poland. In 1863 took part in the Polish insurrection against Russia; after seven years of traveling through Russia, Rumania, France and Belgium came to U.S. in 1872. From May 3, 1873 to Dec. 31. 1874 pastor in two parishes in Manitowoc and Northeim, both in Wisconsin; later in Winona, Minn., Warsaw, N. D., and in Jersey City, N. J. In 1894 pastor of St. Hedwig's parish, Wilmington, Del. In 1903 went to Chicago, where he died.From: "Who's Who in Polish America" by Rev.
