Moczygemba, Thomas, Rt. Rev. Msgr.
Born Dec. 11, 1863 in Panna Maria, Tex. The son of Joseph Moczygemba and Caroline Szguda. Studied at the Victoria Seminary. Ordained Jan. 7, 1891, by Bishop Nezar of San Antonio, Texas, as its first native priest. His first appointment was in Panna Maria, the colony his uncle, Father Leopold Moczygemba, founded. Remained here as pastor for six years. For the subsequent fifteen and a half years till Oct. 1, 1912 served as pastor in Yorktown, Texas. His third and present pastorate has been spent at St. Michael's, San Antonio, Texas. His investiture as Domestic Prelate took place Nov. 26, 1935, at the San Fernando Cathedral, San Antonio, Texas.
