Mollo, Rev. Francis, S.J.
Missionary, writer, educator. Born in Olesno, Poland, July 28, 1872. After four years of gymnasial studies in Tarnow, entered the Society of Jesus, Aug. 13, 1891, in Starawies. There he finished his gymnasial education; Philosophy in Nowy Sacz; Theology in Krakow; was ordained in Przemysl, 1905. For many years teacher and prefect of discipline in the Gymnasium in Chyrow; missionary among Poles in Galicia, Posen, Pomerania, Saxony, Denmark. Sweden. From 1913-1937 Missionary among Poles in U.S., gave missions, novenas and 40-hours Devotions;directed retreats of Religious; Superior of the Jesuit Mission House, Chicago, Ill., 1937-1939. Wrote some articles for "Gosc Niedzielny" a religious weekly, and for daily paper "Nowiny Polskie." Author of a prayerbook "Upominek Misyjny." Died June 9, 1939, in Chicago, Ill.
