Monczynski, Victor L.
Dentist. Born in Buffalo in 1896. Received his elementary education at St. John Cantius parochial school and Public School No. 44. Graduated from University of Buffalo, College of Dentistry, receiving a DD.S. degree in 1923. During the first World War he served in the U.S. Army in Battery E, Third Regiment Artillery. During 1916 and 1917 he was stationed on the boundary between Mexico and United States. Later he served in the 106th Regiment Artillery in France where he was wounded in the Meus-Argonne battle. He received an honorable discharge from the army after the demobilization of the armed forces. In 1936 he served as commander of Adam Plewacki Post 799 American Legion. Former member of Disabled American Veterans. For several years he was an active member of a Civic Committee organized to help financially and morally Villa Maria Academy and Convent conducted by the Felician Sisters in Buffalo, N. Y. For twelve years he acted as visiting dentist for the Immaculate Conception Orphan Asylum conducted by Felician Sisters in Cheektowaga, N. Y. Since the enactment of the Selective Service Act during the second World War until his death, he served as chairman of Local Draft Board No. 607 in the 15th ward, Buffalo, N. Y. Very active in numerous Polish fraternal organizations and also active in the church societies of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Buffalo, N. Y. Married: two sons: Aloysius; Victor, Jr. Died November 8, 1942.
