Monkiewicz, Rev. Miecislaus
Roman Catholic clergyman. Born in Rosienice, province of Kowno, Poland, Nov. 30, 1878. Received early education in Mitawa, Poland. Later studied in Detroit, Mich. and the Theological Seminary, Overbrook, Pa. Ordained Nov. 7, 1901 by Archbishop P. Ryan. First assignment as assistant pastor at St. Stanislaus Church, Philadelphia, Pa., 1901-1904; pastor of St. Casimir Church, Shenandoah, Pa., 1904; pastor of St. Adalbert's Church, Philadelphia, Pa., since Nov. 24, 1904 to date. Awarded by the Polish Government with "Polonia Restituta" Cross. One of the most prominent Polish-American priests in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Residence: 2645 E. Allegheny Ave., Philadelphia, Pa.
