Tarasiewicz, Rev. Aegidius
Born in Lipsk, Poland. Secondary education in Augustow, Poland. From 1873 to 1876 served in the Russian army. In 1876 joined the Congregation of Resurrection in Rome. In 1881 came to U.S., settling in Chicago, Ill. Studied theology at St. Jerome's Seminary, Berlin, Canada. Ordained Sept. 12, 1886 in Chicago, Ill. From 1886 to 1889 assistant pastor of St. Stanislaus Kostka parish, Chicago, Ill. From 1889 to 1893 assistant pastor of St. Hedwig's parish, Milwaukee, Wis. Organized St. Casimir's parish in 1893 in Milwaukee, and was its pastor until Nov. 1, 1902. Died January 18, 1903 in Milwaukee, Wis.From: "Who's Who in Polish America" by Rev.
