Targ, Wladyslaw Jan
Musician. Born in Lowell, Mass., January 26, 1923. Son of Jacob and Thecla Targ; commenced violin studies at the age of 8; studied under prof. Emil Borjes in Lowell. At the age of 11 was accepted as a member of the Lowell Philharmonic Orchestra. At the age of 13 given a 2-year scholarship by the Crescendo Club of Boston, Mass. During his three years of High School he was honored with the concert-masterships of Massachusetts, New England, and all Eastern Festival Orchestras. Presented his first public recital on October 19, 1937, in Liberty Hall, Lowell, Mass.
