Thomain, Robert
Physician. Enlisted in the U.S. Army June 6, 1861, as physician of 41st Infantry of New York and appointed later physician of 58th Infantry, September 28, 1862; transferred to 29th Infantry of New York; discharged June 29, 1863: a very active member of the Polish Committee in Washington, D. C., during the Polish insurrection in 1863 against Russia; was also a good poet, but his works have been destroyed.
