Obituary

NEW JERSEY - Francis T. Tomczuk, 90, of Carteret, died on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at home. He was born in Carteret and was a lifelong resident.

Francis had a Bachelors Degree from Rutgers University and taught for 35 years at Carteret High School retiring in 1991. He was a parishioner of Divine Mercy Parish-Holy Family RC Church, Carteret and was a member of the Holy Name Society and Holy Family Seniors.

Francis was an Army Veteran of World War II serving in the 69th Infantry and served in the European Theater. He was past Commander and a member of The American Legion Carteret Post 263, The Veterans of Foreign Wars Pvt. Nicholas Minue Star Landing Post 2314 Carteret, Knights of Columbus Fr. Carey Council 1280 3rd Degree, Knights of Columbus Fr. Carey Assembly, 1280 4th Degree and the Polish Cultural Foundation. Also a member of the Rotary Club of Carteret and Carteret Honorary P.B.A. - Local #47.

Francis was predeceased by his parents Walter and Anna Tomczuk. He is survived by his sister Rosalie Rycko, his nephew Anthony Rycko and his wife Michele of Florida, great nephew Michael Rycko and great niece Kristin Rycko.

Donations to Divine Mercy Parish-Holy Family RC Church Renovation Fund in Mr. Tomczuk's memory would be appreciated.
