Tomiak, Rev. Benedict
Clergyman. Born 1843 in Wolsztyn, Poland. Veteran of Prussian-French War, 1870-1871. Studied in Rome: ordained in 1893; came to U.S. in 1894: asst. in Shamokin, Pa., 1894-1896; pastor at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel parish. Shamokin, 1896-99: pastor of St. Joseph's parish, Shamokin, 1900-1901: pastor of St. Josaphat's parish, Manayunk, Pa., 1901-12: later pastor of St. Mary's parish, Conshohocken, Pa., where he founded an orphanage and became its chaplain. Died Dec. 15, 1928 in Torresdale, Pa.
