Poet and archaic collector. In 1907 organized St. Adalbert's parish, Toledo, 0., where he was pastor until 1937. In 1937 resigned from the pastorship. An artist, painter, poet, and translator of Polish into English. He translated from Polish: Adam Mickiewicz: "Ksiegi Pielgrzymstwa Poiskiego" (Books of the Polish Nation): "Oda do Mlodosci" (Ode to Youth) Juliusz Slowacki: "0jciec Zadzumionych" (The Father of the Plague-Stricken). He is the possessor of a very precious archaic collection, especially of documents, regarding Thaddeus Kosciuszko and his epoch. Collection is estimated at more that $50,O00. Collected letters, maps, testament of General Kosciuszko and others. A prominent worker during the recruiting to the Polish Army in U.S. during World War I. Translated "Gorzkie Zale" into English: Bishop of Toledo introduced this devotion in all the churches of the diocese of Toledo. Member of the diocesan Building Committee. Member of the diocesan School Board. Prosynodial examiner of clergy. Died Nov. 25, 1941 at Bay Village, Ohio.
