Walas, Stanley M., Ph.D.
Chemical engineer. Born in Detroit, Mich., January 14, 1914. Son of Stanley and Apolonja Walas. For two years he studied at the University of Detroit, Mich., then he studied at Lawrence Institute of Technology from which he received Bachelor of Engineering degree. He was employed as a chemical engineer by Long Manufacturing Co., Detroit, Mich. In the evening he pursued postgraduate studies at the University of Wayne, receiving from same Master of Science in Engineering degree. Upon completing his further studies at the University of Michigan was awarded Doctor of Philosophy degree. In 1941 he was appointed member of the faculty Illinois Institute of Technology. He is associated with the Armour Research Foundation of Chicago, Ill. Member: American Institute of Chemical Engineers, American Chemical Society.
