Walkowicz Leon Thaddeus
Clerk in Board of Election Commissioners, Chicago, Ill. Born March 10, 1896 in Kisheniev, Rumania. Son of Adalbert and Caroline Gnyp. Educated in Sokolow, and Krakow. Poland. Came to U.S. Feb. 13, 1913, settling in New York and settled with parents in Chicago, Ill. Enlisted in U.S. Army in 1917. One of the organizers of the Alliance of American Veterans of Polish Ancestry. Organizer of Alliance of Defense of Western Boundaries of Poland and Polish American Historical Society. President of Alliance of Polish Literary and Dramatic Clubs. At present president of Polish-American Council, District 20 of Chicago. Has a collection of archaic items. Member of P.R.C.U., P.N.A. Polish Alma Mater. Author of "Pamietnik Sienkiewicza" 1936; "Pieniadze nie stanowia o wszystkiem." 1939. Married Felicia Jablonska, May 16, 1928; children: Konrad and Karol Leszek. Residence: 1930 N.
