Warol, Rev. Aloysius, S.J.
Missionary, writer, editor. Born in Rozanka, Poland, June 9, 1859. Entered the Society of Jesus in Starawies, Jan. 30, 1877. Philosophy in Tarnopol; Theology in Jesuit College, Krakow; ordained 1887 in Lwow. Prefect of discipline in Chyrow Gymnasium; Rector of the Basilian Convent in Dobromil. As Missionary for the Poles in U.S. came here in 1900 and worked until 1913. Returned to Poland, was appointed Superior of the Jesuit Retreat House in Lwow. In 1917 he returned to the U.S. as founder and editor of the Polish Messenger of the Sacred Heart, "Poslaniec Serca Jezusa," in New York, 1917-1928. Went to Poland in 1928. Author of letters printed in "Misje Katolickie"; pamphlets, as "Pogadanka Misyjna" -- "Dlaczego chcesz sie spowiadac?" -- "Czy Kosciol chleba nie daje?" -- "Laska i grzech"--
