Weber, Most Rev. Archbishop Joseph, C.R., D.D.
General Delegate of the Fathers of the Resurrection for U.S. and Canada. Born in Bukowina, 1845; studied at Rome, Italy and was ordained in 1869. Consecrated auxiliary bishop of Lwow, Poland, 1895. Rector of Theological Seminary, Lwow, 1895; prof. of Moral Theology at the University of Lwow. In 1904 appointed archbishop; resigned and entered the Order of the Fathers of Resurrection, and went to Rome, where he entered the Novitiate. In May, 1909 went to Canada, where in Berlin (Kitchener) was Master of Novices. In 1914 elected General Delegate of the Resurrection Fathers for U.S. and Canada. Author of: "Defensio Orthodoxiae P. Petri Semenenko, CR.," Auctoris libri "Credo" in 1908. Came in 1914 to Chicago, Ill., where he lived until his death. Died March 24, 1918 in Chicago, Ill.; buried at St. Adalbert's cemetery.
