Wiedemann, Emil
Organist. Born March 10, 1862, in Skurcz, Poland. At the age of 20 arrived in United States and settled in Chicago, Ill. Married Anastasia Schuster in 1883. Children: Hedwig, Anthony, Flavia, Sophie, Pelagie, Philomene, Emily and Emil, Jr. Being a great lover of music he devoted his life work to music, studying choral singing and organ playing. In 1886 was appointed organist at Immaculate Conception of Mary Church, South Chicago, Ind., and after some time left for Buffalo, N.Y., accepting the post of organist at St. Adalbert's Church Buffalo, N.Y. He returned however to Chicago shortly after and accepted the position of organist at the former church and two years later became organist at St. Michael's Archangel Church, South Chicago. Since Nov. 22, 1896 to date he occupies the position of organist at St. Hedwig's Church, Chicago, Ill. He is a very talented musician and composer.
