Attended St. Francis College, Trenton, N.J., from 1908 to 1912. Received into the Order of Friars Minor Conventual and completed novitiate at Assumption Convent, Syracuse, N.Y., 1912 to 1913. Completed philosophical and theological studies at St. Anthony's Seminary, Rensselaer, N.Y., 1913 to 1919. Ordained to priesthood at Albany, N.Y. by Bishop Edmund F. Gibbons on June 14, 1919. Parochial assignments: Assistant at Corpus Christi Church, Buffalo, N.Y., front August, 1919 to July, 1921; assistant at St. Hedwig's Church, Detroit, Mich., from July, 1921 to Dec., 1921; assistant at St. Casimir's Church, Baltimore, Md., from Dec., 1921 to July, 1926; assistant at St. Hedwig's Church, Detroit, Mich., from July, 1926 to July, 1927.
