Wozny, Rev. Sigismund
Born in 1860 in Poland. Studied in Wadowice, Krakow, Vienna; theology in Louvain, Belglum, where he was ordained in 1885. After ordination came to U.S., settling in Kansas; pastor in Leavenworth, from 1885 to 1886. From August 12, 1886 to Jan. 15, 1891 pastor of St. Hyacinth's parish, La Salle, Ill. From 1891 to May 1, 1894 pastor of St. Peter's parish, Stevens Point, Wis. From 1894 to 1896 pastor of St. Casimir's parish, Cleveland, 0. From 1896 to 1897 traveled through the Western states and organized Catholic colonies in Mississippi, California, Oregon, Washington, Vancouver, British Columbia, Alaska. From May 1897 to Sept. 27, 1899 pastor of St. Michael's parish, Berlin, Wis. From Sept. 27, 1899 to December, 1909 pastor of St. John's parish, Princeton, Wis. From 1909 to 1911 pastor of St. Michael's parish, Beaver Dam, Wis. From March 14, 1913 to May 30, 1922 pastor of St. Stanislaus' parish, Berlin, Wis.
