Attended St. Adalbert's parochial school and Canisius H.S., Buffalo, N. Y. Received B.A. and M.A. degrees from Canisius College and LL.B. degree from University of Buffalo in 1919. Married Barbara E. Stegelski, May 3, 1920. Admitted to the New York State Bar in 1919. Engaged in general practice of law until January 1, 1938. Elected Judge of the Children's Court, Erie County, New York, in 1938 for a term of six years. Served as councilman at large, City of Buffalo and as Chairman of the Finance Committee of Common Council, City of Buffalo, 1928-1931. Served in the U.S. Army during World War I from May 11, 1917 to Jan. 1, 1919 as 1st class lieutenant, Field Artillery, including nine months in France. Organized and served as Commander of Adam Plewacki Post, No. 799 American Legion for over eight years; served also as County Commander, District Commander and member of State Executive Committee, American Legion, Department of New York, and on many state and national committees. For more than 20 years member of the Buffalo Council Boy Scouts of America, also at present member of the Executive Committee of the Buffalo Council, B.S.A., and member of the National Council, B.S.A. Member of Council (Board of Trustees) University of Buffalo and member (also past president) of the Alumni Board of the University of Buffalo. Member of the Executive Boards of: Catholic Charities of Buffalo, Inc.; Council of Social Agencies and Catholic Guild for the Blind. Member of Board of Directors: Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo; Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra; Guidance Center of Buffalo, Buffalo Zoological Society and Buffalo Museum of Science. Member Appeals Review Committee, Buffalo War Council. Clubs: Buffalo Athletic Club, South Shore Country Club, Buffalo Trap and Field Club. Member of Erie County, New York State and American Bar Associations. Author of monograph: "The Legal and the Scientific Aspects of Blood Grouping and Typing Tests in Affiliation Cases" in collaboration with Dr. Ernest T. Witebsky.
