Henry J. Wyszynski PBA Activist Passes

Henry J. Wyszynski, 76, passed away on January 24th, 1998, at his home in the Wissinoming section of Philadelphia. Funeral services were held at St. John Cantius Church, followed by a private burial in Arlington National Cemetery.

Born in Bridesburg, Henry graduated from Northeast Catholic High School and LaSalle College. After retuming from service as a B-24 pilot with the 15th Army Air Force in Italy during World War II, Henry began his professional and community service as a realtor, accountant, fraternalist, and leader in our Polish Amerlcan community.

His leadership roles included President of the Polish American Congress, Eastem Pennsylvania District from 1970 to 1974 and again from 1977 to 1980. He was also the Secretary of Group 60 of the Polish Beneficial Association, a lodge organized by his father, Walter. Henry served as Secretary General of the Polish Beneficial Association, Chairman and Grand Marshal of the Pulaski Day Parade in Philadelphia. Henry was a good friend and supporter of many Polish American Organizations. Henry was also known for his assistance in leading the successful drive to declare the home of Thaddeus Kosciuszko in Philadelphia a National Historie Site.

Henry devoted his talents and energies to both Polonia and many other segments of his community.
