1999 Captain Leo J. Wyszynski

Younger brother of Captain Joseph L. Wyszynski, and son of Joseph & Lorraine Wyszynski, majored in Mechanical Engineering at West Point and was among the twenty five members of his graduating class honored as "Distinguished Graduates" for his academic achievements. During each of his four years at West Point, Captain Wyszynski earned a Star and Wreath Award. This award is only granted to cadets who rank in the top five percent of their class academically, and who excel in physical fitness. He graduated eighth out of a graduating class of 988. Captain Wyszynski selected to be a Cavalry Officer in the Army and was the top Armor graduate in the class of 1995.

His career includes serving with the Third Armored Cavalry Regiment - the Brave Rifles, as an MIAI Tank Platoon Leader, Heavy Scout Platoon Leader and as an Executive Officer of First Troop, Third Squadron, Third Armored Cavalry Regiment.

His military education includes the Armor Officer Basic Course, U.S. Army Ranger School, Armor Captain's Career Course and the Combined Arms and Service Staff School. He is presently attending the Airborne School and the Cavalry Leader's Course and will be moving to Fort Polk in January, 2000, with his wife of three years, Ivy, to serve in the Second Armored Cavalry Regiment.
