Kulpinski Family

Piotr and Florentyna (Labedzka) Kulpinski, founders of Richmond Bakery, Richmond Street, Philadelphia began their combined careers in the baking industry in 1910 with Bronislaw and Stefania Labedzki in the Nicetown area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

At first, baked goods were delivered in a wheel barrow, then in a horse drawn wagon. From 1920 to 1924, they conducted a bakery in Poland; then the White Eagle Bakery in Syracuse, New York.

In 1930, Piotr and Florentyna with their family returned to Philadelphia establishing the Richmond Bakery. The delivery of baked products throughout the neighborhood changed from horses and wagons to trucks, delivering throughout the Greater Philadelphia area.

Technological expertise has led Richmond Bakery to the manufacturing and distribution of frozen dough products throughout the eastern seaboard in large freezer trucks, under the name of Cryotherm. Current modernization steps assure steady growth to meet greatly increasing demand. Both companies are owned and operated by the Kulpinski Family.
